It’s pretty on-brand to say that we, as registered dietitians, love snacks! Snacking can be helpful to prevent “hanger” between meals. When we wait too long to eat, we often are less likely at our next meal. Snacking can help us to ensure we are meeting our body’s needs! It’s basically a form of self-care.

How to build a balanced snack

Try to incorporate at least two macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats) at each snack. This will help you to feel more satisfied and give your snacks some staying power. If you are snacking with the intention of satisfying biological hunger (as opposed to taste or emotional hunger), making a balanced snack choice is essential!

Chomps Mini Grass Fed Beef Jerky Sticks

Chomps are high in protein and have no added sugar. We like to pair them with string cheese and a piece of fruit for a perfectly balanced snack!

Simple Mills Almond Flour Snack Bars

This one is for our gluten-free girlies! We love all of Simple Mills products, but these snack bars are so soft and tasty and easy to store in your purse or backpack.

RX Nut Butter

A good source of healthy fats and plant-based protein, add this nut butter to fruit or crackers for a snack on the go.

Kind Bar Minis

Mini but mighty! Kind bars are sweet and salty and provide about 100 calories per mini bar.

Country Archer Mango Habanero Beef Jerky

High in protein and low in fat and sugar. Is there anything better than beef jerky on a road trip?

That’s It Fruit Bars

These bars are made with fruit - that’s it! Perhaps snack on these along with some Greek yogurt or cheese for a protein punch.

Bada Bean Bada Boom Bean Snacks

Fiber fiber fiber! Beans really are the magical fruit. What’s even more magical is when they can be eaten on the go!

Whisps Cheese Crisps

These crisps are made with real cheese and pack 6-9 grams of protein in a serving. These are so tasty with some grapes!
